MCC Seattle's 50th Anniversary — Emerald City Metropolitan Community Church of Seattle

2022: 50th Anniversary of Metropolitan Community Church of Seattle

Seattle’s original and oldest lgbtq+ church

We were established in Seattle in 1972, just three years after the Stonewall Rebellion in NYC in 1969 and just four years after the first Metropolitan Community Church was founded by Rev. Troy Perry in Los Angeles, CA in October of 1968.

Twelve worshippers gathered in his home in Huntington Park, California at 1:30PM on October 6, 1968 – the first service of what today has become an international movement with more than 44,000 members and adherents in 29 countries, and a powerful message of spiritual acceptance and affirmation for gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transgender persons, and more.

On our 50th, we celebrated our members, who bring our vision to life.
