About MCC Seattle

MCC Seattle has served the Seattle area since 1972 in affiliation with the Metropolitan Community Churches. It is the oldest congregation founded by and for LGBT persons in the Pacific Northwest.

The Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches was founded in 1968 by Reverend Troy Perry, specifically to minister to the needs of the lesbian and gay community at a time when other Christian denominations were not open and affirming. The lesbian and gay community has an ongoing need to approach God without shame or with second-class status.

Today, our ministry continues to actively support those with HIV and AIDS, and to advance our commitment to social justice, human rights and equality. MCC churches provide a place where our relationships, our marriages, and our holy unions are fully recognized and honored in the Christian community.
